Training Orchestra

A friendly group for those who’d like to take their first steps into playing in a group. Any instrumentalist (of any age) is welcome to join once they can play 6 or 7 notes although there are easier string parts for those who’d prefer to stick to open strings. Mentors who help and guide new players are spread throughout the orchestra.

Playing in this group gives an excellent introduction to playing in an orchestra –learning to watch a conductor, improving rhythmic skills, discovering new music, listening to other instruments & working collaboratively. We play a wide variety of music & have fun making music together.

The Training Orchestra rehearses on a Friday night at March Community Centre, Station Road, March, Cambridgeshire PE15 8LE.

Time: 6.30-7.30

Standard of Playing

The orchestra is suitable for any players from Grade 1 to Grade 4 standard of playing. The emphasis will be on providing an experience of playing in an orchestra while having fun!

A tuck shop at break time will also be available, run by the Parents’ Association.
